I’ve always had a love for digital media. I was a very creative child growing up, making my own claymation movies with my dolls and home video camera, drawing, making up dances with my best friends. In high school I took a digital media course with UVU through concurrent enrollment and I was hooked!

A few years later I made the decision to attend UVU and major in Interaction Design. I only had a brief understanding of what that meant at the time, but I knew it intrigued me. In October of 2016 I had the opportunity to complete an internship with a local tech company in American Fork called “Sound Concepts” (who later became “verb”) where they eventually hired me on full time to be apart of their product design team. I loved my job there. My coworkers were so fun to work with and I loved collaborating on projects and learning new skills and how UX Design functioned in the workplace. Three and a half years later, I ended up deciding to focus on school full time and was able to complete my Associates Degree in Universities Studies this summer, which was a huge personal accomplishment. I am a first generation student at UVU, meaning neither of my parents have college degrees. My mom instilled in me from a young age that an education was so important, and I am so grateful for her encouragement.

I have loved my time at UVU, I’ve been through a lot during my years here. I fell in love with the design process and I am passionate about finding creative solutions to different problems that come my way. I love UX Design and Product Design and hope to continue to learn more skills and apply the ones I’ve learned to create new products that people can benefit from in the their everyday life.
